Max and Alan, co-founders of Alba, test UNBLIND on the street with Omar Ledezma, UNBLIND advisor and a person with visual disability, and his guide dog

UNBLIND. We see with the heart.

AI glasses for people with visual disability. They read, describe, recognize and guide you with 3D audio, and you use them with your voice.

In development · not yet for sale
It isn't about seeing with your eyes. It's about perceiving the world differently.

Hear where things are.

UNBLIND's 3D audio makes every person and object sound from where they are: to your left, in front or behind. And with LiDAR, the same sound tells you where obstacles are.

Put on headphones and hear how it sounds.

What it does, seen the UNBLIND way.

The same street, told five ways. Tap one or let it change.

It also reads text aloud and recognizes products and codes. While it is in development, it does not replace the white cane or the guide dog.

A prototype built for everyday use: a camera, LiDAR, a processor and bone-conduction sound, in a pair of light glasses. Designed and tested with blind and low-vision people.

  1. The screws come loose
  2. The covers slide off
  3. The processor comes out
  4. Inside the tips: that is where the batteries go
  5. The batteries and the transducers come out
  6. The temples, the camera and the LiDAR come apart
  1. CameraSees what is in front of you: text, objects, faces and colors.8 mm in diameter
  2. LiDARMeasures how far away each thing is, so it can warn you of obstacles with sound.5.5 × 6 mm window
  3. CPU + TPU processorRecognizes and describes on the glasses themselves, without always relying on the internet.61 × 13 mm board, inside the right temple
  4. Bone conductionSound travels through the bones of the head and leaves your ears free to hear the street. One on each side · 11.5 × 10 mm
  5. BatteriesThey sit at the tips of the temples, behind the ears. One on each side · 21 × 8 × 7 mm

From the first prototype to the street.

In 2021 we asked ourselves how a blind person could know what is in front of them. UNBLIND came out of that question, and Alba was born from UNBLIND: we learned to see with machines.
